Design your own custom Phiten Tornado Necklace

Look for our purple and orange Tornado Alert graphic to help you spot the Tornado-ready necklaces!

Phiten TornadoClick HERE to use our Custom Tornado Maker page to have us make you a custom tornado.

Or you can make your own Tornado Necklace from any of our Star Necklaces or Camouflage Titanium Necklaces.

You can also use our X30 Diamond, X30 Checkered, X30 Fireball, MLB X30 Necklaces or other similar products.

Or you can make your own Tornado Necklace:

1. Purchase two necklaces that are the same length. Two 26" necklaces will make one 22" Tornado. Two 22" necklaces will make one 18" Tornado. We recommend using our Star Necklaces or Camouflage Necklaces. You can also use our X30 Diamond, X30 Checkered, X30 Fireball, MLB X30 Necklaces or other similar products.

2. Decide which necklace will be primary: the tornado will use that necklace's rubber slide pieces and clip. Remove the clasp and rubber slide pieces from the other (secondary) necklace -- in this example the pink one.

4. Hold the two necklaces together so that the letters both run in the same direction. For example, if the letters on one necklace goes from left to right the letters on the other necklace should also be read from left to right.

5. Use a needle and thread to attach the secondary necklace to the primary. You can sew through the cloth and rubber.

6. When the secondary necklace is attached, work the rubber stopper down over the sewing. Tweezers may be helpful here. The rubber stopper should hide both the original sewing on the primary necklace and the new sewing that attaches the secondary necklace.

Prepare your needle and thread for being used again; make sure the end is knotted. Keep it close by as you continue.

7. Start winding one of the necklaces. Wind the other necklace in the same direction. As you wind, twist the necklaces in the opposite direction of the wind (if you wind the necklaces to the right or clockwise, then twist the necklaces to the left or counter clockwise).

8. When you've wound the entire necklace, cut off any extra from the secondary necklace, and pick up the needle and attach the secondary necklace as you did in step 3, above.

9. Slide the rubber stopper back down. The Phiten logo on the surfaces of the rubber parts and clasps should be facing the same direction.

10. Congratulations! You have your own personalized Tornado Necklace!

Be Careful About The Following Points:

The tightness of the twist should be the same. If you twist too tight, the finished necklace won’t lay flat on a flat surface. If you twist the necklaces the right way, the letters across both necklaces will appear aligned.

The twists should be consistent, all the way to the last twists. Be careful not to let the last few twists become bigger and looser.

Any threads, frays or end of the necklaces should not be seen from the openings of the rubbers.
